Alexandria 0.6.6 released

2010-06-21

The first beta of Alexandria 0.6.6 was released 6 months ago, fixing dozens of bugs and improving the user-interface. After an extended lull in development, this final release adds a few more usability improvements and bugfixes.

Users of Debian or Ubuntu GNU/Linux variants can download alexandria_0.6.6_all.deb and install it with sudo dpkg --install alexandria_0.6.6_all.deb

Make sure your version of Hpricot is not the buggy version 0.8, but version 0.8.1 or 0.8.2 or above. You can install it from the Alexandria Team PPA on LaunchPad. With Hpricot version 0.8 (this is the version installed on many Ubuntu systems), the Alexandria code to parse HTML pages from book provider websites won't work and you probably won't find any results when trying to add books.
