Alexandria 0.6.3 released
2008-02-21
Alexandria 0.6.3 is a maintenance release of this program, continuing the new development effort begun last year. It brings greater overall stability and a more responsive user-interface, as well as fixing many bugs. It is now available for download from RubyForge
Special thanks to L.C. Karssen for important bug triage work which helped us sort out and solve the most serious bugs in this iteration. Also thanks to our newest developer, Timothy Malone, for the totally original idea of iPod Notes export.
New features in 0.6.3:
- Asynchronous loading of libraries and visual feedback to make the GUI feel more responsive.
- Export to iPod Notes format.
- New Amazon ECS 4.0 support to replace the old AWS 3.x Amazon provider. (AWS 3.x will be deprecated by Amazon on March 31 2008.)
- Tooltips for the icon view of books, to allow you to see more information at a glance.
- New Galician and Chinese (Traditional) translations as well as an updated Czech translation and a Japanese translation of the Alexandria manual.
Users of Debian or Ubuntu GNU/Linux variants can download alexandria_0.6.3_all.deb and install it with sudo dpkg --install alexandria_0.6.3_all.deb Alternatively, you can add the Alexandria Package Archive repository to your deb sources, and simply run aptitude install --with-recommends alexandria This will also automatically resolve the dependencies.
On other systems, you should fetch the source package alexandria-0.6.3.tar.gz and build it with rake and sudo rake install
